Transport and logistics company, Wallace International, has strengthened its Sydney arm with the addition of a new temperature controlled store, along with the purchase of a new Mack prime mover and Freighter drop deck bogie trailer.
According to Wallace, the new cool store will cater to food customers and has the scope and size to include a number of other products. The cool store has been engineered to hold a constant 18 degrees Celsius temperature and has racking for 250 full pallets. In the event of a mechanical failure a backup system is on standby. It is the third cool store for Wallace International, who also operates two similar cool stores in Brisbane and Perth.
In addition, Wallace International also took purchased a new Mack Granite prime mover with a Freighter drop deck bogie trailer designed to delivering food raw materials on a daily basis from the new cool store to the customers’ facilities in Western Sydney.
“In this application the Mack and Freighter combination works well. The driver can do one load with up to 10 drops per day across Sydney, whereas with a rigid he’d have to do two trips,” Transport manager, Gary Perry, told CRTNews.
The Mack is fitted with MP8 engine rated at 500 horsepower and the mDRIVE automated manual transmission. The Freighter trailer features Ezliner buckle-less curtains.
